ERP Award Distribution Ceremony
In their efforts to improve students' learning experience in the Colleges and Institutes at Yanbu,the Management of English Language Center at Yanbu (ELCY) initiated a Center-wide project aimed at engaging all students in the Foundation English Program (FEP) in fruitful, fun, and educationally rewarding activities. This project, dubbed Extensive Reading Project (ERP), began in the first semester of 2015/2016 (2015_1) and witnessed unprecedented popularity and resounding success. Students appropriated the project and worked wonders. To recompense the outstanding participants – both from students and teachers – and encourage others to do more, the ELCY, through the ERP Committee, held an award distribution ceremony on February 15, 2016 at the YIC Auditorium. The ceremony kicked off at 10:15 AM.  The ELCY upper management, at the head of which was Dr.Othman Barnawi (Manager), Mr.Ahmed Dahesh (HoU – YIC Unit, ELCY Administrative Supervisor), and Mr. Habib Bouagada (ELCY Academic Supervisor),attended the ceremony. Were also present, students from many sections of ENG 001 and ENG 002, FEP teachers, and all award recipients. This vibrant and colorful event was masterfully organized by Mr.Nasir Abbasi, ERP Coordinator, and Malik Naseem Abbas, ERP Co-coordinator.In his brief opening speech, Mr. Malik Naseem Abbas welcomed the audience on behalf of ELCY Management and that of the ERP Committee. Then, Dr.Othman Barnawi took the floor to address the audience. With selected and inspirational words, he highlighted the importance of the ERP and its positive impact on the students' learning. To loop the loop, the much-awaited awards were distributed by the members of the upper management. With radiant faces, the distinguished students received their prizes. Similarly, teachers who excelled in mentoring ERP participants were rewarded. On the whole,the event ended with higher expectations and the sentiment of "mission accomplished".
